Third Party Advertising Accessibility event development team

WIPA is currently trying to organise an event to address the challenges presented by the use of Third Party Advertisments on web sites. The use of third party advertising is increasing. Many of these advertisments are not fully accessible and there is uncertainty about how to make them accessible or where the responsibility for their accessibility may lie.

WCAG Implementation event development team

WIPA is putting together a series of forums to discuss WCAG 2.0. The forums will outline the differences in the underlying approaches of WCAG 1.0 and WCAG 2.0 and will provide developers with practical advice to help them comply with a new set of web content accessibility guidelines. We plan to present this event in at least 4 cities.

Sponsorship Committee

The role of the Sponsorship Committee is to seek funding opportunities from corporate, Government or other sectors to help fund WIPA inititaves and events.

The role of the Membership Committee is to promote membership and approve new members on behalf of the Management Committee. New membership applications are nominated by Peter Firminger and seconded by Russ Weakley and/or Roger Hudson. This committee is limited to Management Committee members.

FullCodePress (Australian) Organising Committee

The FullCodePress Organising Committee is largely responsible for arranging the Australian component of the FullCodePress event. This includes organising and selecting the Australian Team, organising and selecting the "client" charities, as well as event management and accomodation/travel arrangements for the participants.

NSW Government Guidelines event development team

WIPA is putting together a forum in Sydney to help NSW Government Developers with implementation of the NSW Government Web Directive.

Usability and Eye Tracking Seminar

An afternoon seminar with Dr Peter Brawn and Dr John Eklund on the latest eyetracking technologies and the challenges of ensuring usability during Agile Development.

The seminar was held in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.

Some of the comments received:
