City: Melbourne Vic

The 2009 OZeWAI Workshop is a continuation of the series for those who want the Web to be inclusive of all who have the equipment and connections - without discrimination against those with special needs due to medical or other disabilities. Accessibility is sometimes thought of as extended or included in usability but it takes a particular perspective on inclusion and is legally required in most countries. Currently less than 3% of the Web is accessible to everyone but 65% of users would benefit if it were accessible. Understanding accessibility; what to do about it; who is doing what, and what is available to help, will be considered in a special two-day workshop at OZCHI. Remember, we will all have special needs if we only live long enough!
